As we prepare to close

Dear friends and members of our local food community,

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closure of Primal Supply Meats, which will wind down operations this month. I founded Primal Supply in 2014 with the mission to build a local supply chain connecting local farmers to consumers, and to serve the Philadelphia region with sustainably-raised meats.  

It has always been my primary goal to uphold the integrity and mission that Primal Supply was founded on, but the time has come to accept that we are no longer able to continue operations in a sustainable way. I have given all that I can to carry our business forward in the face of the mounting economic and social challenges that were set in motion by the pandemic more than 3 years ago. There are really no words to describe how difficult this decision has been for me.

I am incredibly proud of the work we have done to support local farmers and promote responsible and ethical farming practices. Many of our employees have gained skills and learned the craft of whole-animal butchery during their time at Primal Supply, and as a team we have always been committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and the highest quality meats, while educating them on the importance of knowing where their food comes from.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to our loyal customers, dedicated staff–past and present, and the many farmers and purveyors who have partnered with and supported Primal along the way. I know that this loss is shared by many of you. We could not have done this work without you, and I am grateful for the impact we have been able to make together. I will always value the relationships I have built through this business.

Thank you for being a part of our community and supporting our mission. I will miss you all and this beautiful business very much.
