An interview with Lidia Bastianich

I recently had the opportunity to interview Lidia Bastianich on stage at the Free Library of Philadelphia for the launch of her new cookbook, Lidia’s From Our Family Table to Yours: More Than 100 Recipes Made with Love for All Occasions.

It was an absolute joy to get to know this incredible woman as I read her memoire in preparation, and spent afternoons watching old videos from the early days of her PBS cooking show. Our conversation was an absolute dream come true as I got her to tell stories about making risotto for Julia Child and to share her own values around seasonality, responsible meat eating, and of course, cooking for family.
